The impact of artificial intelligence on education
Introduction
With
the technological advancement of the 21st century has had a very big
effect on learning and adapting patterns of various students in developed
countries and some in developing ones. The rate of impact varies from
psychological to socio behaviors which have changed the lifestyle and
educational issues of the latter. The research gate scientists claim that in
the years to come artificial intelligence will be driving human activities
which can be seen now in developed countries to small extent. Frey and Osborne (2013, 2017) say that the world is adopting
e-learning at a very high speed due to the rapid growth of the 5G internet
speed which supports online learning for the international students. Artificial
intelligence can bring new ways of learning, teaching and education; it can
also change the way how learning is assessed in various educational
institutions. In addition to the above, artificial intelligence is widely used
throughout the world and various sectors are using it not only the educational
sector.
E-learning induced
The way of learning of students
distant from places of study has been eased through the e-learning programs
that have been currently processed by their teachers in charge thus reducing
the transport fares which could be paid for such long distances. This has
encouraged saving behaviors by some goal oriented students and hence matures
thinking. Salvo, 2018 and Bass, 2018 reveal that the almost 75% of the people
in U.S.A have access to internet services and of which 65% are students.
Researches say that most students who use internet are always on online
learning as a hideaway of the high fares to their places of study. The
University of Canada West college of information and technology reveal that the
in the year of 2040, the world will be driven by AI (artificial intelligence)
most especially the phones and this will likely lead to a better way of
learning starting from students in toddler classes to those in classes of
higher learning such as Universities.
Eased online teaching
Thomas and Brown (2011) indicate
that the real state of teaching have been changed compared to the ancient years
of teacher-student face to face teaching. Though most of the students in
developing countries are still learning in the style discussed above, the ones
in developed world are well versed with the new patterns of learning. Gane et
al(2018) claims that the introduction of artificial intelligence has done
better than worse because the it is the one driving the globe in this century
and without it, the earth can be in a very economic depression where education
comes in. with the introduction of online teaching channels such as you tube
have made online teaching very easy
since students can access those videos quickly and even revise when offline.
Encouraged cyber learning
Mislevy (2018), clearly states that
even in developing countries have to access to cyber education that includes
the learning topics while staring at the events being learnt such as the point
for experiments in science classes. However, this is not applied to oral
classes but it has tried to transform the learning patterns of students
throughout the world. The current research made by Riener (2020) shows that the
students who have access to face to face learning have access to cyber
facilities are available and this has encouraged the growth of self-esteem thus
bringing thereafter goal oriented people in future. The students in first class
countries have access to cyber learning and the percentage is still at a higher
rate in countries like U.S.A, Britain, Japan and many others.
Increases global interaction with the peers
The use of
internet to acquire may be fun for some students who may need to interact with
the international students and this encourages special discussions with the
students of various nations and differing tribes. The use of artificial
intelligence for education will make education to be so charming because it
will equip students with the necessary skills for the future jobs. Willingham (2010)
claims that the people working in top world’s companies give a testimony of
having been using online learning before and that that equipped them with the
writing speed, internet access, use of computer related devices such as web
cams for video conferencing. Luckin(2018) adds on and says that practice makes
perfect and so people well versed with their computer jobs even practice much
than ever before.
Conclusion
The world now is
driven by the latest technological equipments and services and this calls upon
for the increase for use of artificial intelligence and related services
because of the better benefits which have been well explained in the above
discussion. The use of artificial intelligence has done better than worse and
so should be induced in all educational institutions.
