Introduction
Like other world’s problems, global warming is
haunting and disturbing the climate patterns all over the nations and this is
risking peoples’ lives. Lombardo (2009) indicates that the increase in the
globe’s temperature over the previous decades is as the result of high levels
of atmospheric carbon dioxide caused by the induced use of fossil fuels. He
generally adds more that this argument is now agreed, and that measures should
be put in place to decrease the future warming by prohibiting the use of green house
gases such as carbon dioxide. However, Wong (2007) put forward a wide range of
arguments. She presents evidence of historical climate change which have been
not probably caused by rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Generally, global warming is retarding the nations’ economies worldwide and
scientists say that it is increasing at a rate of 14% yearly with a destruction
rate of animals and vegetation of 3% per annum.
High rates of carbon dioxide in
the atmosphere
There is a belief that the level
of carbon dioxide has rapidly increased in the atmosphere resulting from the
intensive burning of fossil fuels all over the world such as coal and oil
(Lombardo, 2009). The common point is that the number one change results into
the second; in simple phrases a warmer climate has been activated by the rising
levels of carbon dioxide ii the earth’s atmosphere, which has also led sun’s
rays to be trapped inside the earth’s atmosphere; also known as ‘the green
house effect’. In addition to the above, researchers claim that the future rise
of temperatures will be as a result of increased burning of fossils and fuels
which induce carbon dioxide accumulation in the atmosphere.
High
temperatures
Lombardo, (2009), claims that the
ever rising temperatures are as a result of global warming which has reduced
the cloud cover and thus allowing sun rays to penetrate directly onto the earth
with no any disturbances incurred. He adds that the high temperatures are also
as a result of the rapid accumulation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which
has also led to global warming showing evidence to the question. The side
effects of global warming are not so easy to detect or to see but the weather
stations in U.S.A use the so called equipped gadgets to detect the rise in the
global temperatures and their side effects on peoples’ life style and plant
life and animal life. With the high temperatures saturating, scientist predict
that the globe’s temperatures will be hotter than ever trying to reach the
extent of making the crops to dry or wither within a few seconds. The up to
date researchers dearly reveal the truth about the evidences of global warming.
(Lahav, 2010)
Evidence
of historical climate change
The argue that high levels of carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere indicate global warming is however opposed by Wong, 2007 who adds
that its due to the ancient climate changes which result from the low dense
cloud cover thus allowing much sun rays to penetrate onto the earth’s surface
hence high temperatures and also claims that solar activity may also distort
the amount of cloud cover and thus temperature changes. Such uncertainly, she
considers global warming to be as a result of the historical climate changes
and there is no doubt to saying that global warming is not only due to high
levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Evidence of melting of ice and
retreat of glaciers
Various scientists now say that
global temperature have increased in the last century, and this is reflected by
the melting of sea ice and retreating of glaciers from the high mountains such
as the Kilimanjaro ranges and this has been due to increased accumulation of
carbon dioxide which has also increased the global temperature. Lahav, 2010
indicates that by 2048, the existing glaciers will have disappeared or less
will be still be in place because the temperatures will have over risen.
Conclusion
It is claimed that the side
effects of global warming are worsening every new day and many scientists are
all proposing for the various evidences such as temperature rise globally, high
rates of carbon dioxide accumulation in the atmosphere as written in the above
discussion. Nearly 70% of the research made globally claim that the question in
point is heavily defended by the above discussion. In final words, global
warming exists and is still becoming a threat, ( Lahav, 2017).
